Our mission is to provide women insurance professionals with opportunities for professional development and assistance in advancing their careers. Members are successful insurance professionals with at least three years of experience in the insurance business. Our membership include highly-regarded, decision-makers in middle management to the C-Suite and have a cross-section of industry skills and knowledge being employed at primary insurers, reinsurers, insurance brokers, risk management, professional services firms and other industry-related organizations.
Connecting People and Resources
Networking is important. Often, it’s who you know that helps the most. We sponsor varied programs for members to learn, network and share ideas. Our luncheon programs feature prominent insurance leaders and experts on key industry issues. Members receive discounted fees for APIW luncheons, enrichment programs, conferences and social events, including the annual golf outing.
We also provide networking events to encourage members to interact and network in a more informal and relaxed atmosphere. Programs focus on career development topics as well as social events. A secure members-only area provides on-line access to members-only Job Bank and individual member information. The online membership directory is a resource that provides access to a strong network of professional contacts.
APIW publishes a members-only newsletter, the Insider, which provides scholarly and practical information about the topics being featured at our monthly luncheons. The newsletter also showcases the activities of our members and our Networks and reports on the achievements of women in insurance.
Members (and non-members) can register for events on-line. The site also contains links to a wealth of resources – from industry sites to databases, special-interest conferences, and reference libraries.
The greatest benefit of membership comes from volunteering your time as a committee or board member.
