Grab a bite of lunch and a bite of wisdom and connect with other APIW members!  This session features a chat with Sherry Huang, Chief Actuary at New Energy Risk, an innovative affiliate company of AXA XL. Sherry will share some thoughts on her career, ESG and innovation in the insurance industry, and D&I.  Virtual networking and Q&A will be encouraged for our members to stay in touch during this time of social distancing. 

Sherry Huang has served as senior actuary at New Energy Risk since 2015 and Chief Actuary since 2019.  Her background boasts two decades of experience as an actuary and data scientist. Throughout her career she has specialized in risk modeling, insurance pricing, and predictive analytics. In 2019, Sherry was awarded the Women in Insurance Leadership award from Digital Insurance, which recognizes excellence in technology and business.

Formerly, Sherry was Data Scientist at Saama Technologies where she was building predictive models and big data applications for insurers. Prior to that, she was a Managing Director at Aon Benfield, a reinsurance intermediary and capital advisor. There she helped clients use risk management model output to design limited-risk growth strategies. Sherry started her insurance career as a Risk Quantification Researcher at Risk Management Solutions, where she helped build catastrophe and emerging risk models. 

Sherry is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and holds a BA in Statistics and Economics at University of California, Berkeley.

Sherry enjoys cooking and sampling innovative dishes, running, and spending time with her family.
