Social Inflation: Actions, strategies and intelligence for insurers
Social Inflation is having a profound impact on the loss landscape and challenging the industry. We know that an aggressive plaintiffs bar, anti-corporate sentiment and changing societal attitudes contribute to this phenomenon. This program provides specific actions and strategies that insurers may employ in claim handling, defense strategy and loss management. We will also discuss Social Inflation in a post-Covid 19 environment.
Speaker Bios
Dana Franzetti, Head P&C Reinsurance Claims U.S., Vice President, Swiss Re
Dana leads the Property & Casualty reinsurance claims group for the U.S. at Swiss Re. She also serves as a member of the cross-functional team advising on the impact of social inflation. Prior to joining Swiss Re, Dana spent the first part of her career as an insurance defense attorney in New York City and ten years within Professional Liability Claims at Zurich North America. She is a member of the New York, New Jersey and Illinois Bars and graduated from Hamline University School of Law. Dana holds a B.A. from University of Minnesota and an M.A. in English from Northern Illinois University.
Jane A. Mandigo, Senior Vice President, Swiss Re P&C Business Management Claims division
In her role as Senior Claims Expert, Jane consults on issues relating to reinsurance coverage and assesses emerging topic risk trends for Swiss Re cedents on a variety of subject matters including: Opioids, Social Inflation, Professional Lines, Sexual Harassment and Climate Change. Prior to her Senior Claims Expert position, Jane was Chief Product Underwriter for primary professional liability lines of business. She is a member of the Missouri Bar and graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia School of Law where she held positions on the Missouri Law Review and Order of the Coif. Jane graduated Summa Cum Laude from Drury College with a degree in English.
